Behala Kolkata is located in south Kolkata which nowadays is hugely congested by traffic at certain places. Prior to him, there was another ruler of this place who was killed by the king of Jessore and the king annexed Behala with Jessore. Much later when the Mughals defeated the King of Jessore, the Mughals gave the Zamindari to the Sabarna family. Near Behala there were three villages which were later developed by the British.
