It was the site of countless battles between the local rulers and the British tyrants. The town is popularly known as the tiger gate of Rajasthan and is surrounded on all sides by Aravali hills. If you are looking to visit Alwar, the winter months are the best time – from November to February. The city becomes a furnace during the summer months. Also, avoid planning a trip here during the monsoon months from July to mid September. You wouldn’t want to spend your vacation cooped up indoors.
