With sights and scenery comparable with a snow paradise, Himachal Pradesh has rightly earned the epithet ‘Switzerland of India’. Visiting Himachal Pradesh can be an incredibly fulfilling experience, but make sure that you choose one of the best Himachal tour packages for your trip

Embark on the first of many Himachal holidays to revel in the beauty of this small state.

The Best Sights of Himachal Pradesh

Most Himachal holiday packages have enough sights and experiences to keep you busy for days. These places will definitely help you plan your Himachal tour itinerary better.

  1. Kullu- Manali
  2. Shimla
  3. Dharamsala
  4. Kasauli
  5. Bir Billing

Kullu- Manali

Hands-down, Kullu Manali is one of the best places to visit in North India. The roaring Beas river, the fresh air and snow-capped mountains all around are sure to make you feel energised and inspire awe in everyone. Although a favoured destination among honeymooners, Manali meets all the requirements for a memorable family trip too.

To see: The sights at the famous Solang Valley and the Leh highway

Shimla

The capital city of Himachal Pradesh, Shimla was a hot favourite among British Generals and Army officials during the colonial era, the fact is evident in its architecture and monuments. The climate in Shimla is cool, with snowfall in the winter months of November, December and January. You have the choice to do anything, right from shopping for souvenirs at Mall Road and the Tibetan Market to trekking to the Chadwick falls. To go offbeat, go to the nearby town Banjar and visit the sacred Kamna Devi Temple.

To see: The Ridge, Christ Church, Viceregal Lodge

Dharamsala

Dharamsala has one of the largest Tibetan populations among the cities outside Tibet. The town welcomed the Tibetan refugees, including the Dalai Lama who lives in Mcleodganj. The town is also a great choice for solo travellers, with many hostels and cheap food options available. The climate is best between the months of May-July but visits in winter will give you a chance to see snowfall. Dharamsala is only 12 hours away from Delhi.

To see: An intense cultural experience and Tibetan cuisine.

Kasauli

Kasauli is the gateway to Himachal Pradesh because of its proximity to the states of Punjab and Haryana. Kasauli has many amazing trekking trails, grand Victorian buildings and a cosy hilly ambience. The sunrise and sunset point at Kasauli is a must-visit along with timber Trail, Monkey Point, Mall Road and Baptist Church. This is indeed the best place to have a peaceful holiday amidst pine and cedar woods.

Bir Billing

Bir Billing, simply put, is the Mecca for adventure sports in India. Located on the western side of the state, you can easily include it in your itinerary. Paragliding is a must to witness the eagle-eye view of the surrounding mountains, which is an experience in itself. The Buddhist monasteries in the centre of the forest are also an amazing sight to behold.
