(Translated by Google) All the country's oxygen depends on a few trees, and if any industry even looks at a single tree with the wrong eye, the country's breath will be cut off. To set up an industry, environmental clearance is required; to expand a factory, permission is required; to change the use of land, permission is required; to cut down a tree, permission is required. And with each permission, files, reports, inspections, objections, and countless other papers are required! It seems that shutting down an industry in this country is easier than establishing one. Now, consider the Arab countries. Sand is everywhere, vast deserts, and there are no naturally occurring trees. Yet, cities are springing up, industries are operating, tall buildings are being constructed, and development is progressing at a rapid pace. Looking at them, it doesn't seem as if any official has issued an order, "Plant a hundred trees first, then lay a brick." But in India, the situation is different. Here, rules are made in the name of the environment, files are created in the name of rules, and ordinary people and industrialists are running around in the name of files. One permission follows another, then a third, and then it's revealed that yet another department's approval is still pending. The file moves, but judging by his actions, it seems he's also landed a government job. Saving the environment is essential; no one can object to that. But the question is, don't the rules made in the name of environmental protection become a convenience for the corrupt system? An honest industrialist stands in a long queue of regulations, unaware of when his file will be processed. Then, the same system announces from the stage that the country should expand industry, create employment, and attract investment. Hey, how will investors come? Who will come to a door locked with so many permission locks that a person might forget their investment while searching for the key? In Arab countries, development wasn't stopped by the sight of sand, and in India, why does development have to be stopped by the sight of trees? Now, even asking this question will probably be considered a crime against the environment. The question isn't about cutting trees, it's about the system that, in the name of protecting the environment, increases the hardships of the common man. Because the public now wants to ask— “Sir, in Arabia, people are breathing amidst the sand, and in India, amidst files, seals, and permissions, who is suffocating—the environment or the common man?”
