Everyone's missing my point. To us roadies, we might be at a rest area or a parking lot or gas station, looking on our phone for a cheap motel for the night. We don't care about pools or beaches or pillow-top beds. We want to look, quick and dirty. In fact, I sort reviews from worst-to-best so I can look for the reasons NOT to stay at a place. I skip right over long-winded reviews. Stories about being in town to visit family or the owners have been in business since the 60's are totally useless to me. Since TA set up the 200 min character rule, as you've seen, I don't write much anymore. I'm sure I'm not alone there. In fact, I know I'm not, based on all the forum comments in other threads. You can argue all you want that it's "easy" and put the blame on the complainer, but that doesn't change the fact that people still don't like it and won't post because of it. I've stayed at over 180 motels in the past 2+ years and I have 20 reviews. Who loses? Not me.
