Great location, really good customer service, hotel has proper character, especially the rooms (we had 4 poster superior room). To put things in perspective, stupid people will stay in an old building, suited for non materialistic customers, and then expect a modern Hilton modern room and interior. As long as you are switched on, and understand your staying in a building that was built for your grandad's grandad was born, you will appreciate the stay, along with the furniture and interior. If you prefer modern, look for a premier inn. If you want original character, stay here. It was £8 uber ride into town, breakfast was premuim and super tasty (not cheap cuts for breakfasts, although i do prefer the cheaper cuts to be honest!). Customer service upon check-in (GM checked us in) was attentive to detail, which is unusual, as normal check-in is "heres your keys, room down the corridor" , so that indeed was like a cherry on the cake! I had pre-paid for the room via booking.com , so exact
Quality of food is good & also very cooperative staff
