Great location, really good customer service, hotel has proper character, especially the rooms (we had 4 poster superior room). To put things in perspective, stupid people will stay in an old building, suited for non materialistic customers, and then expect a modern Hilton modern room and interior. As long as you are switched on, and understand your staying in a building that was built for your grandad's grandad was born, you will appreciate the stay, along with the furniture and interior. If you prefer modern, look for a premier inn. If you want original character, stay here. It was £8 uber ride into town, breakfast was premuim and super tasty (not cheap cuts for breakfasts, although i do prefer the cheaper cuts to be honest!). Customer service upon check-in (GM checked us in) was attentive to detail, which is unusual, as normal check-in is "heres your keys, room down the corridor" , so that indeed was like a cherry on the cake! Great location, beautiful surrounding atmosphere, great staff. Most friendly and helpful receptionist and staff ever, lovely and great first impression of hotel. Everything about the hotel was exceptional. It was clean, stylish, roomy with excellent service in where we had dinner. Food was good and great value for money and service was attentive and efficient. Room itself was well equipped and comfortable. I was very pleased with my stay. I hope to be back for a longer visit in the future
