I stayed one night at this hotel while visiting Penang with my sister. At that time I ordered a double bed room. The location of this hotel is very strategic and easy to find. Around the hotel, there are Sri Mahamariaman temple, Nasi Dalca Rahim, Tea Kadai, etc. But for those who bring vehicles, it may be difficult to find parking in the area. Luckily we were backpackers who stopped there and didn't bring a vehicle. For the hotel room I stayed in, I thought it was quite good and clean. The room is spacious, the facilities are all Ok, the wifi works although not very fast, the bed is neat, the towels are clean, the bathroom is clean, the hot water works. One thing I noted was that when I left the room and was going to lock the door, I had a little trouble because sometimes the door wouldn't lock so I had to do it several times to make sure the door was locked. It seems like this needs to be paid attention to by the hotel. Oh, as for the lighting in the room, in my opinion it's a little dim or maybe it's the effect of the wallpaper which makes the room a little gloomy. Apart from that, everything is good. The staff is also friendly & very helpful. I would say it's worth the price and still recommended hotel.
Pro: location is nice - walk to Chulia St. for all the food and drinks you can have. Little India surely has an eclectic yet energetic vibe. Air Conditioning worked well. Staff members were nice and accommodating despite the challenges. Con: Everything in the room was either broken or just simply unsanitary. No hot shower. Cigarette burns on the toilet. Towels stained with brown marks - I suppose it *used* to be blood. TV is just for decoration - turns on, but no channels available. And sadly, worst of all - absolutely disgusting bed sheets - looked like someone peed on it. Luckily, they gave me a new one on the following day, but the fact that I had to sleep on it still does not do me good on the first night of my Penang trip. The prayers blasting from the mosque will ring your head every morning at 5:45am-ish, and they will smack the crap out of those bells for 15-20 minutes nonstop around 7:30am. You will be forced to wake up early. Price for the stay was cheap, but I still think it was too expensive for what I had to put up with. I cancelled the remaining nights and decided to go somewhere else. It was a very mixed experience - had the rooms been better and cleaner, it would have been a decent experience.
