Can only talk from my own experience as I can see a few people have complained about being over charged or having their accommodation cancelled. We saw these reviews prior to arriving and were concerned, however the only discussion of the price being different was Larry checking if tourism tax was included in the price on booking.com. This was easily resolved as we just showed the PDF receipt available on booking.com as he asked and this confirmed the correct price and that was that, so as long as you can provide that which is easily found in the app there shouldn’t be any extra charges. As for the service, Larry was absolutely fantastic when we checked in. He gave us a full rundown of the room and features, how to use air con, shower etc. He also told us about tourist activities in the area which was very helpful. The room itself looked better than it did in pictures, it felt homely and came with a kitchen area and fridge which we didn’t realise when we booked it. The fridge was full of drinks to buy, which was all at cheap prices. The shower worked well, the bed was comfortable. The only downside was there was nobody really around to see if we wanted our room cleaned, so we didn’t get our room cleaned once in our few days there. The air con also did work, but it didn’t give off as much cold air as it should, it was definitely faulty. Luckily the room came with a fan also, so that was how we stayed cool. Location was absolutely great, 2 minute walk from the main strip. For the price you can’t argue, it was good value for money.
It’s true that they sometimes cancel at the last minute, often because the price listed online is lower than the actual price. Their prices start at 124 RM, which I don’t find affordable considering the condition of the room. However, if having a kitchen is important to you, there aren’t many other options in the area. The location is great, as it’s close to the main street. We stayed here while working remotely, and the Wi-Fi worked very well for that. If you need anything, they respond quickly—we asked for a deep cleaning because we found some cobwebs in the corners, and they came the same day to do a more thorough job. Cons: • Cleaning is only done every 3–4 days. In countries like this, if you have a kitchen, ants appear quickly if you leave even a crumb of bread, so you need to be careful. • The bed is not very comfortable—one side of the mattress was deformed. • The space is quite small for working. There’s only a small table, no wardrobe, and very little light since there are no windows inside the room. Overall, I would recommend it for a short stay, but it might not be ideal for longer stays or if you’re looking for a more spacious and comfortable setup.
