Overall, a positive experience, and we’d happily stay again, especially for the pet-friendly accommodation and helpful communication. Positives: Communication: Check-in and assistance are managed entirely via WhatsApp. The responses were prompt, friendly, and helpful. When we arrived early, the staff coordinated with housekeeping to prepare our room as quickly as possible. Room: Very spacious, with ample desks and cupboards for storage. While some minor repairs and repainting were needed, the overall quality was good for the price. The shower room was clean and modern, though water pressure left much to be desired. Facilities: A small garden and off-street parking were welcome features. There’s also a water filter downstairs, which was convenient. Snacks are available in a self-service honesty shop—an interesting touch, though it would benefit from clear pricing. Convenience: The hotel is close to Taiping Hill, which was perfect for hiking. Pet-Friendly: A major plus for us! Our cat loved exploring the room and all its cupboards. Negatives: Noise: The proximity to a mosque and hospital made mornings noisy. Light sleepers may want to bring earplugs. WiFi: We couldn’t log in during our stay, though it wasn’t a big issue as we had 4G. Security: The hotel is unmanned, and the two front doors remain open, allowing anyone to walk in off the street. Maintenance: Peeling paint, minor wear and tear, and an awkwardly angled shower head detracted slightly from the experience. Suggestions for Improvement: Enhance security with a front door code lock to prevent unauthorized access. Upgrade the shower with a new head and holder for better functionality. Clearly label and price items in the honesty shop. Address minor maintenance issues, such as peeling paint and room repairs.
