Best Time to Visit Rishikesh

Rishikesh enjoys reasonably good climate throughout the year, so it’s possible to visit the city any time you’d like. The summer months (March to May) tend to get quite hot, and sightseeing tours can get a little uncomfortable. One can opt to explore the city instead or spend some time taking a yoga or meditation course.May and June are the best time for river rafting and other water sports. These activities should not be attempted during the monsoons (June to September) when the waters of the Ganga are a force to be reckoned and extremely dangerous. If you would like to visit during this time, stay away from the beaches in Rishikesh and catch local festivals such as Savan instead.

The winter (October to February) gets quite cold, but it’s ideal for walking around the city or short hikes.
