Halloween might fall on a Thursday this year, but that is not going to stop the city from throwing some incredible events. Here are some thrilling events in Dallas this week!

FRIGHT NIGHTS AND COSTUME PARTIES

1.The Honey Halloween Party: Free drinks, picture opportunities and an amazing DJ lineup! Tickets start at $8.

2. Desert Burners Halloween Theme Party – The Candleroom always throws the best Halloween theme parties with prizes going to everything from best costume, to the scariest, and crowd favorite. Tickets are FREE with complimentary valet.

3. Kostumes and Karaoke Halloween Party: Blends Daiquiri Lounge combines two crowd favorites with a costume party and Karaoke! There are four different prizes for costumes so you definitely don’t want to miss it. Tickets are free!

4. The Crystal Ball Masquerade: The Sol Society is throwing a masquerade bash under the full moon this Halloween. This spooky soiree includes tarot reading, live music, dancing and dining. Tickets start at $65.

If you’d rather avoid crowds on Halloween, and watching a scary movie or show with your close friends is more of your jam, read on:

5. Tim Burton’s The Nightmare before Christmas: Enjoy the spookiest day of the year at the Dallas Symphony Orchestra with Disney’s animated experience performed live to picture! Costumes are encouraged. Tickets start at $48.

6. Halloween Flash Film Screening: Come watch spooky short films at the Angelika theatre. Tickets are at a much less scary price of just $6.

7. Watch “Halloween” at the Alamo: John Carpenter’s legendary, all-time favorite horror classic. Showing in Denton at 7 pm. Tickets at $7.

8. Free Movie in the Park: Bring your blankets, lawn chairs and snacks and get ready to watch a special feature of Hocus Pocus at Griggs Park. Did we mention this is free?

GHOST WALKS AND TOURS

In the mood to learn some history about DFW and explore some haunted areas? Here are a few ghost tours you can experience this Halloween:

9. Baker Hotel Ghost Walk – Mineral Wells, TX: A uniquely creepy experience. Tours meet at the Burleson Visitors Center at 124 W. Ellison St. Tickets are $10.00 for adults. Call  817-629-8127 for reservations!

10. Denton Haunts Ghost Tour – Denton, TX: Learn about the haunted history and spooky spectres of Denton, TX. Find out more in a walking tour of the historic Denton Courthouse Square based in research and folklore about local legends. 

11. Fort Worth’s Ghost Bus Tour – Fort Worth, TX– Fort Worth has so much to offer- Cattle, stockyards, outlaws… and ghost tours? Come visit where John Kennedy spent his last night and perhaps meet 35 (or more!) ghosts! Tickets are $27 each.

KID-FRIENDLY HALLOWEEN FUN

After all those creepy events, let’s talk about a few family-friendly events you can enjoy with your little ones this year:

12. Halloween Bingo on the Geo-Deck: Try your luck this Halloween! This event starts at 6 pm on October 29, first come,  first served and included with the purchase of a general admission GeO-Deck ticket. You can wear a costume but please keep all scary masks and props at home!

13. PCI’s Halloween Spooktacular: What’s not to love about a free admission, free parking event with snacks, kid-friendly haunted house and door prizes? There is also a costume contest your kids will love. Don’t miss this awesome opportunity to enjoy Halloween activities and community networking.
