Very clean (you could smell the cleaning products). Basic, simple, modern. The bathroom sink was very small and very low, so I made kind of a big mess when I washed my face. Landing off the elevator was looking a bit worn, but the room was in great condition, clean, simple, basic. We only stayed for one night and it worked out great.

I liked this Motel 6. The chain is intentionally a low-cost provider, so less fancy, but the Portsmouth location was just fine. Moreover, the staff was able to provide useful local information that helped me solve a car problem on a Sunday. The route from the hotel into downtown Portsmouth is relatively simple.
