Are you stranded in Chicago OHare at 1am, with a strict business travel policy? Do you crave adventure? Are you as brave as you are desperate? Then have I got an overnight accommodation for you! Welcome to the Admiral Motel by Oyo. Nestled snuggly in the deepest part of Southside Chicago, this virtually unknown treasure awaits your hourly hotel needs. Upon arrival you are greeted by police car lights and local residents all the way outside, as they feed a sweet stray cat and their litter the finest hot dogs Chicago has to offer. Your overnight desk clerk is committed to ensuring your stay is as pleasant as possible. Tour through multiple rooms, before committing to where you will spend your 6 hour layover. Each room has unique features such as handwritten numbers on your door, trash cans (where available) and various stages of air-conditioning unit functionality. Be sure to check if your plumbing has both intake and drain pipes and that the pressure and temperature of your shower is at US standards. Cold water in summer is available for a small extra charge. Once your desk clerk provides you with your towel and sheet set, head on up to get settled in. At the Admiral, there's no need for headphones to get you ready for tuck-in. The ASMR combo of fire truck sirens and grinding bathroom vent fans will lull you to sleep, assuming you can sleep without concern for bed bugs and other nighttime companions. The residents and staff are friendly and kind, and will make sure you feel right at home no matter where you're from. [but really, they actually -are- quite lovely] So the next time you are stranded at OHare, and the predatory airlines and greedy corporate airport hotels are gouging you by 5x over, skip all that and head straight for the always affordable Admiral Motel. They are waiting for you.
Stayed here during a busy weekend period. Even with higher occupancy, the front desk managed guest flow well. My check-in took a little longer but remained organized. Staff handled pressure calmly.
