I booked a single queen bed handicapped accessible room through travelocity for my husband and I for a 2 night stay. When we got there the reservation showed a booking for 2 queen beds no mention of a need for handicapped room. The room we were given WAS a ground floor room. HOWEVER there was NO way I could get into the bathroom in my wheelchair. I called the front desk and they were very accommodating and worked hard to find a room that would work for me. The only toom they had was one that againbhad two Quuen beds so it was a bit difficult with my chair. But it had handicapped accesable bathroom with roll in shower and a shower chair as well and maneuverable shower head that was removable with the hose or stationary and could go up or down on the bar. They were very nice. The other issue with the room ( and why weren't put in it at check in) was that the AC was being replaced the next day. It worked but was loud. The guy came to switch it out and he was very professional and did it quickly. He also was very nice. The hotel manager was very helpful when I had to go down to the office and even helped me back to my room and to get into my room since my husband was sleeping. She knew it would be a work out in the heat. ( I haven't been in a wheelchair for very long long). The room had two different types of mattress. One was a soft pillow top and the other a firmer one. The housekeeping lady cane in to give us fresh towels and she was so sweet as well. I really appreciate the treatment of the staff here. It made our stay a lot better. They made us feel special. I read reviews before our stay that said that the staff was rude and unprofessional: That is SO far from our experience! They claimed issues with other guests: I noticed that a couple of the other guests had dogs but they were friendly and well behaved. ( bith the dogs and people) Some complained about cleanliness. As I said both rooms were clean. The motel is older but they are doing all they can to maintain and update it. There is a bar/ lounge next door. My husband and I had dinner there ( in the bar because of the hour) the people we encountered there were all great too. We had a wonderful conversation with obe gentleman. The service was great. We didn't hear anything coming from there after we left. We stayed on a Thurs and Fri night. So to not hear anything on a Fri night seems pretty fod to me. The area is not the Ritz but it's not bad either. There are stores and coffee places close by. In the room we had a mini fridge with separate freezer and a microwave. They have coffee in the lobby.

Other than the people who are literally living next door with a large dog that barked at other animals that were with other guests and came way too close to our hotel room door because he was on a really long leash tied up all night, this was a great stay as it always is. Our service people were wonderful and we always meet really nice people in the area. I am a repeat customer a couple times a year. So the only problem was the people with the big dog living in the motel room next door. It wasn't the people we had the problem with it was their dog. He was aggressive not only to our animal but others as well and he is a large dog breed so some people with fears of large animals might decide not to rent from this hotel with that big of a beast next door.
