OK - I am going to say this loud for the back of the class... This Is A Budget Motel! Meaning if you want the newest and shiniest, the space and amenities go spend $200+ somewhere else. For me spending under $100 per night to be steps away from downtown and the ocean I will accept all the quirks. Was it the fanciest place? No. But there was a bed, desk, TV, shower and toilet. Even had a microwave and refrigerator/freezer. Was a small small space but they made it functional. It had somethings that could be polished and patched up but nothing was dirty or off putting. Even had WIFI. And was quiet. If you see a homeless person don't blame the hotel.. Its the way it is now. There is no office onsite (they have another motel 5 minutes up the road) so you have to go there to check in. I don't blame them for not wanting to staff two locations; especially with the winter coming. The office lady was polite and helpful. This is a no frills no motel that you can see the carousal from. I would 100% stay again. If you are going to be nit picking every little thing about this place, go somewhere else. Its cheap and has great location.. Accept that is is not going to be the Ritz.
My only real complaint was that the bed was truly awful. Springs were totally shot and it was like sleeping in a hammock! Room was tiny, that's OK. Some peeling paint, a broken but still lockable window. And a pretty much non-functional bathroom fan. Bedding, towels and room were clean. Check in was painless and fast despite the power outage. And price for the location was fantastic. We'll stay again for a weekend at the beach on the cheap! (Hopefully with a better bed!}
