Great for the price. It was a nice place for a two day stay with an ocean view. We did have some issues with preventive maintenance things, but overall, the staff was great and accommodating. I see what the goal is here. This hotel is great for people wanting to walk to old town or on the beach. The weather was not always the best, so I watched the waves from my window as well as people coming and going or used the pool hot tub and sauna. Neighborhood is quiet. When the weather did co-operate Agate Beach, the beach town boutiques and Chowder kept us busy. Being in hospitality for 20 years, this place could use some maintenance but served its purpose for people not wanting to be in a room all day but forced to. Nye Beach was closed at that time, but there were better beaches to be seen anyway. The lighthouse is being renovated, but the park around it held many fun photo treasures. The aquarium is super close. The front desk was super helpful even when I needed to use some windex for my car.

We usually just take day trips to Newport, but we needed to be there early in the morning so my wife booked this room because the rate was very reasonable. For the price the room was really large (for an inexpensive hotel on the coast), clean and comfortable. The bed was pretty soft, but I slept fine on it. The service was good and it was walking distance from our favorite beach in town, Nye Beach. That’s saying a lot for me because I have an injured ankle and can’t walk long distances. The breakfast was somewhat standard: cereal, yogurt, make your own waffles, etc. No protein like eggs, bacon or sausage but there are plenty of breakfast options in town for that. We have saved them in our favorites and will definitely use them again if we need to stay overnight in Newport. Oh yeah, the view of the ocean was great!!!
