Labor Day 2019 in Charleston

Are you looking to visit Charleston? Check out our listings or call 1-844-BOOK-OYO to find available rooms today.

You may not realize it, but the Labor Movement led to a lot of the good things in our workplaces: limitations on working hours, the banning of child labor, and yes, the weekend. What better way to celebrate those folks then by not working at all? If you’re ready to kick back and do nothing, here’s what’s up on Labor Day in Charleston.

Got some time on your hands? Gather some friends and drink some beers or sip some wine.

There’s only one winery in Charleston, and it’s a good one. Nestled on Wadmalaw Island, Deep Water’s Labor Day Weekend Winedown will feature BBQ from La’Son Anchor Grill. Eat, drink, and be merry while Charleston-based band, Calhoun’s Calling, plays in the background.

Charleston, SC 29455

Celebrate Labor Day weekend with a cold one—or a few cold ones—at Low Tide. The brewery has works with local chefs to create praiseworthy food and beer pairings. Low Tide is putting its own spin on the Labor Day festivities by offering all to go beers in a buy one/get one half-off feature.

Go outside and enjoy the last of the gorgeous summer weather.

What’s more relaxing than a day spent fishing? Actually, probably nothing. But the Cast Off tournaments put a festive spin on these friendly competitions, bringing in food vendors and prizes for various categories. Spotted trout and bluefish are frequently reeled in off Folly Beach Pier—good luck!

Sure, you can spend Labor Day sitting around doing nothing…or you can lace up your running shoes and celebrate not being stuck at a desk! Not up to running? You can walk instead; bring as many friends and family as you want and enjoy the beautiful late summer weather. There’s even a post-race afterparty (with beer!) at a local restaurant!

Make Labor Day all the more festive and deepen your appreciation of music at the same time.

The Lowcountry Jazz Festival

August 30th-September 1st
