The hotel is charming and conveniently located in the city center, yet tucked away on a quiet side street, making it great for exploring the area. However, if you're arriving by car, be cautious. We got there at 1:00 PM, an hour before check-in, and noticed there were three parking spots directly in front of the hotel, plus two more in front of the associated pub. Out of these five spaces, four were vacant. We thought it would be fine to leave our car there and inform the reception that we would check in later after a stroll around the city. Unfortunately, that wasn't allowed! Despite the available spots, we had to wait an hour until check-in time. This meant we had to navigate through the side streets to find a parking space, pay for it, and then return later to use the hotel's parking, which was the main reason we chose this hotel! It was quite frustrating! To top it off, the only car parked in front belonged to a staff member at the reception! We’ve never encountered such inflexible customer service. What was the issue? One could argue that one space should be reserved for guests checking out, but why would they park there in the first place? Regardless, four empty spaces? This felt like unnecessary bureaucracy. Despite this hiccup, our overall experience at the hotel was pleasant, but it did leave a sour note. We might think twice about returning.

This led us to navigate through side streets to find a paid parking space and return later to use the hotel's parking, which was the primary reason we chose this hotel! It was rather frustrating! To make matters worse, the only car parked there belonged to a staff member at the reception! We have never encountered such inflexible customer service. What would be the harm? One could argue that one space should remain available for guests checking out and loading their cars (but why would they park there in the first place?). Regardless, four empty spaces?! This felt like pure bureaucracy. The otherwise enjoyable experience at the hotel was significantly affected by this. We will not be returning.
