The OYO Flagship Sheffield Metropolitan is a perfect place to stay. It offers comfortable stays at affordable prices and a superior check-in experience.
The hotel met my expectations completely…possibly even exceeded it in terms of the breakfast. The service on arrival was great, directing us to the best car park and a really quick check in process. The room was as expected. It was clean (even smelled clean) and had everything we needed. The bed was comfortable enough that I had an unbroken night’s sleep and even with the window open throughout our stay we weren’t disturbed by any outside noises. On our check out morning my wife and I went for breakfast which I was very impressed with. It had a full array of warm and cold items to choose from (cereal, white and brown toast, pastries, yoghurt, fruit and juice plus a full English selection) as well as an espresso coffee machine. My only issue with the hotel is the location. On arrival I asked where to park and was advised not to use the relatively small hotel car park as cars parked overnight there are regularly broken into (there are other more secure options a couple of minutes walk away) and as we walked back to our car to head for home we passed a man stood near the car park who appeared to be trying to light what you might call a non-standard pipe! We didn’t experience any difficult situations but we drove into the place and got a taxi back after a night out, which is probably recommend. Otherwise the hotel did everything we needed Ava we enjoyed our stay
If you're looking for a no frills experience with comfortable beds and really competitive prices then this is the place for you. The room was far nicer than a travelodge and I even had a bath! It was also half the price of the Travelodge that is virtually opposite. My room was quiet, peaceful and the bed was comfortable. I've seen others here complain about the breakfast, sure, it wasn't the greatest but considering it's included it was adequate. The dining room however was a little bit like the 'Spirit of North Korea', sparse, barren and empty. I would suggest more decorative features and nicer lighting. The exterior of the building also looks a little run-down, but the interior is clean and fresh. I had a lovely stay and would definitely stay again. On the website I booked through it did say that the hotel had parking available for £5 a day, however this isn't at the hotel but at the Car Park just behind it, and they give you a voucher for money off.
