This was my second visit to Brentwood, and I enjoyed a very cozy double room with breakfast included. The room was peaceful, but navigating to it felt like wandering through a maze. Although it wasn't my original room, the receptionist kindly switched me due to the challenging weather, which made it tough to go outside and access another part of the hotel. I learned that the hotel is actually two combined properties without interior access. There was a notice indicating that the kitchen and restaurant were closed, likely due to flooding, but this wasn't explicitly mentioned. As a result, I received my breakfast in a brown paper bag when I came down in the morning, which was a bit disappointing. It included a cheese sandwich without butter, an Alpen bar, and a rather dry Fairy cake, along with coffee and sugar sachets. I understand that the kitchen closure was out of their hands, but it would have been nice to have a better breakfast option or even vouchers for a nearby place like McDonald's for a proper meal. Additionally, the hotel parking lot was full, so I ended up paying around £10 for on-street parking. I'm hopeful that everything will be back to normal the next time I need a hotel in Aberdeen.

I stayed in room 209, and I found the bedding to be clean and quite comfy, with the toilet also spotless. The family room, which had a double bed and a single bed, felt a bit snug, but for a night’s stay, it was perfectly fine and nothing too fancy. The price I paid was an absolute steal! The hotel staff were super friendly, and the location was fantastic—just a short walk to Union Street and Union Square for dining and shopping. The train and bus stations were also only about a 10-minute stroll away. Parking was a bit limited, but I managed to secure a spot for the weekend through my parking space. I didn’t get a chance to check out the bar or restaurant. Just a heads up, the room was up a couple of flights of stairs, and I didn’t see a lift, so if that’s a concern for you, it’s worth asking ahead. The shower was wonderfully warm with great pressure. There were tea, coffee, and biscuits in the room along with a kettle. Plus, there was a TV with Netflix and free Wi-Fi. An iron and hairdryer were available too. Overall, it was a fantastic bargain—cheap and cheerful!
