There was no information pack in the room, telling us about times for breakfast, or anything else the hotel had to offer. I know they did food and bottled water because I had read it at the desk, An information pack would have been useful. There was no soap, so we had to use the shower gel to wash our hands. The shower head was also a little unstable and the pressure was acceptable, but not great. I couldn't find a hair drier in the room, and I didn't ask at the desk, as by the time we had had breakfast my hair was quite dry. If I'd had an information pack it might have cleared up this confusion. At breakfast he fruit juices were not very tasty and difficult to get out of very slow running containers, and the Americano coffee out of the machine was quite weak.The hotel was on the main road, although the car park access was a little confusing, and for the size of the hotel it was quite small. The guy on the desk told us it was alright to park in a disabled spot, as no other places were available. Parking was free. Late check in was not a problem, I had contacted the hotel about this previously as we were going to a family party. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room itself was quite large and we heard no noise from the corridor, and the road didn't bother us very much despite having a window open. The beds were comfortable. The room was clean and comfortable, with towels and shower gel/shampoo. The bathroom was large and had an outside window, so we could open it for ventilation. The breakfast was good and there was quite a lot of choice, though I found the toasted difficult to operate. We had an English breakfast which was delicious.

Nothing, it was all goodWe booked an overnight stay as we were visiting the local theatre (which was short walk or taxi ride away for those that can’t walk far) for a show that evening & also for its convenient location directly opposite railway station as we travelled in by train & we weren’t disappointed. This lovely huge Victorian hotel has been Nice & freshly refurbished & very clean with a warm friendly welcome from Rachael & Carol, who were also very helpful & accommodating during our stay, they really were lovely & a credit to the hotel. Our room was perfect, practical & very clean, with everything we needed for a comfortable stay & we had a very comfortable nights sleep. Breakfast was hot buffet or continental, really good & something for every palate.
