Great spot for the beach (though be prepared for quite a few steps if that's a concern for you). The owner is super cheerful and helpful, even if he wasn't around all the time. He was quick to answer my call when I had a question and sorted it out right away. The room was very comfortable and clean, as was the ensuite. It did get a bit noisy in the late evening with doors slamming for a couple of hours (they really need to be slammed to close from the outside). We noticed a group of people hanging out on the steps outside smoking, which might be locals, but it didn't affect our stay at all. Overall, it was a lovely experience and just what I expected for the price. Not having breakfast was perfect for me since I always bring my own for race day (Bournemouth Half).

I had the pleasure of staying at The Lodge last month, and it truly was one of the most amazing experiences I've ever had. The owner was incredibly kind and attentive, a real gem of a person. He went above and beyond to make my stay as comfortable as possible. The room was lovely, complete with an en-suite bathroom, a large flat-screen TV, a nice wardrobe, and a kettle stocked with tea and coffee. The highlight of this place is definitely its location—just a quick 10-minute stroll to the beach and nearby restaurants. If you're craving a late-night kebab, you can easily walk for 10 minutes and find one! The atmosphere felt so welcoming, almost like home, largely thanks to the owner who greeted me like an old friend. The staff were all very friendly as well. I wholeheartedly recommend this place!
