We had a pleasant first impression of the Tong Park hotel. There were ample parking spaces available, and we simply needed to register our vehicle at the device located at the reception. We arrived a bit early since we were heading to an afternoon birthday celebration. We waited in the reception area for about 30 minutes before a staff member appeared. The reception area is quite compact, with only a few seats. Since we arrived early, our room wasn’t ready yet (which was our situation, not a fault of Tong Park). Eventually, the receptionist came and kindly arranged a taxi for us to get to our event. I had requested a room with a walk-in shower due to my mobility issues, and I was pleased to find that this request was fulfilled—thank you! The room itself was nice, although I think the windows in room 101 could use some attention. The view from the window looked out onto a flat roof over the reception area and needed some tidying up, as it had quite a bit of debris, including cigarette ends, which didn’t look very appealing. It seems some guests are smoking out of the window, but we’re non-smokers! The window only opened a few inches. Our room featured twin beds, and I found the duvet on my bed to be quite heavy, while the other duvet was light and lovely. The pillows could be improved. The air conditioning was a fantastic addition to our room. We appreciated the hospitality tray, which included biscuits and a couple of chocolates, along with a good selection of teas and coffees. The lighting in the bedroom wasn’t the best, but we managed just fine. The towels were plentiful and of good quality. We didn’t dine at the hotel in the evening, but breakfast was delightful, with plenty of options and a lovely, peaceful atmosphere. All the staff were wonderful and very accommodating.

There was plenty of parking available when we arrived, and checking in was a breeze after entering our license plate into their system. The large bed was actually two beds pushed together, which created a bit of an uncomfortable gap in the middle, but it was only a minor issue if you happened to roll onto it. The room was clean and well-equipped, with fresh sheets and a duvet. We did notice some plant equipment near our room, including a fan next to the bathroom that ran continuously, as well as some larger fans outside the window, making it difficult to sleep with the window open. The breakfast setup could use some improvement; the tea and coffee station was tucked away in a narrow corner, which felt a bit cramped. The hot breakfast is made to order, but it was unfortunate that the beans were served cold. I overheard other guests mentioning similar concerns. The grilled tomato was also a bit of a letdown, as it was cooked whole and was cold inside—cutting it in half before grilling would definitely help. Our electric towel radiator in the bathroom wasn’t functioning, but since we were only staying for one night, it wasn’t a big deal as we didn’t need to dry the towels. The room was warm enough without it. Check-out was seamless.
