The setting is stunning, an old country estate primarily used for weddings, nestled in beautiful grounds featuring lawns, woodlands, and a river. It's a wonderfully quiet and secluded spot, with the rooms located in and around a more contemporary building that includes a bar and restaurant, along with additional accommodation annexes. We opted for one of the annex rooms since we brought our dogs along. We enjoyed drinks in the charming courtyard, which was delightful, and had a lovely meal in the appealing restaurant. The staff were all very helpful and courteous, even with a full house that weekend. Parking was easily accessible, and dogs are welcome in the grounds and some indoor areas. Our room was quite satisfactory, though it showed a bit of wear; the wooden windows are starting to age! The food was delicious, well-prepared, and beautifully presented, though the menu was somewhat limited. Breakfast was understandably busy, but there was an abundance of food with plenty of options. Overall, we had a very enjoyable stay.

The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating, making check-in a breeze. The room was absolutely stunning in the charming old house. For the price I paid (£88), I was pleasantly surprised by the spacious and comfortable room that had everything I could possibly need, including tea and coffee making facilities, a fan, an iron and ironing board, a mini fridge, soap and moisturizer, nice towels, quality bedding, and an excellent super king bed (which was actually two singles pushed together). The bed even had a luxurious topper, and as someone who is particular about beds, I had a fantastic night's sleep. The grounds are beautiful and perfect for taking a dog for a walk. We didn't hear a peep from other guests all night, likely thanks to the lovely old building. It’s very well kept, and the room was cozy and warm. We opted not to have breakfast at the hotel, so I can't speak to the food.
