Everything was fantastic, with stunning surroundings, beautiful views, and friendly staff. We enjoyed a two-night stay with breakfast included. The first morning's breakfast was delightful, offering a great variety of hot and cold options. However, on the second morning, which was a Bank Holiday, there was a bit of a shortage, especially with the hot food. Only sausages, beans, and eggs were available. I requested tomatoes, mushrooms, and hash browns, but they had run out, which was a little disappointing for me as a vegetarian. I ended up having beans on toast instead. It seems like larger hotels should have a better idea of how many guests to prepare for based on bookings. Additionally, I had read that the outdoor pool would be open from May to September, and I even confirmed this when I inquired about it. Unfortunately, it was closed during our stay, which was a bit of a letdown since I could have chosen another hotel with a pool but was really looking forward to experiencing the outdoor heated pool.

The location was absolutely wonderful - just off the A24, yet our room was completely peaceful with no road noise at all. I was thrilled to find out that parking was free for hotel guests. Our room felt very cozy, and we particularly loved the delightful little 'conservatory' with seating that opened up to the garden. We were completely smitten with the outdoor swimming pool - it was spacious, perfectly heated, and had changing rooms and shower facilities conveniently located right next to it, all with Box Hill providing a stunning backdrop. The bar area was quite inviting, and we enjoyed a tasty burger and chips along with some local beer. It's just a short walk from the hotel to the stepping stones over the river, and there are plenty of other walking trails to discover from this lovely spot. We would definitely choose to stay here again.
