This beautifully decorated hotel has been a true pleasure -- after spending nearly a week here, I decided to extend my stay for another week. It’s genuinely serene, EXTREMELY quiet, even though it’s located on a main road, thanks to the exceptional soundproofing of the rooms. My room is quite spacious, featuring a sitting area with a sofa and chair, along with a large built-in desk. I absolutely adore the tub/shower (an actual cast iron tub that’s very deep!), and there’s even a towel warmer, plus a generously sized wardrobe/storage area that includes tea-making facilities and a small cooler. The staff kindly allowed me to check in early, which I truly appreciated, and Ana (at the front desk) has been especially helpful in making that happen for me initially and on several occasions -- assisting this bewildered American with some British currency queries, as well as guiding me on how to get into London by train. She also promptly addressed a couple of minor issues with my room upon my arrival, all handled swiftly and with a warm smile from Ana. Other staff members have also been wonderful, including Magda, who radiates a genuine spirit of "welcome"... which really makes a difference when traveling (especially since this is my first visit to England). Everything has gone smoothly during my stay overall, which is clearly why I chose to stay here a bit longer. I’ve also relished the lavish breakfast and enjoyed lunch on the deck during a sunny spell... the pizza was delicious, and what a tranquil spot to take in the river view. I’ve walked to a nearby pub and shops, and it’s just a short stroll from the train station; there’s plenty to explore within a 10-15 minute walk. I also enjoy sitting in the common areas with my laptop -- this charming hotel is delightful and peaceful, and hats off to their dedicated staff...!
