I will start with saying after booking and then reading the reviews I was extremely concerned. However upon arriving late at 11pm I was met by the hotel owner who was extremely friendly. I spoke to him about my anxiety of the place not being open, and he explained that he has taken over in May this year. He also showed me the bar area, which he is developing and it looked great, along with the full English breakfast which he is looking to offer inclusively once he has a chef. Upon entering the single bedroom, room 14 I found it light and most importantly clean. The bathroom area was also clean and spacious. The room had all you would need in regards to a stay (TV, Kettle, tea, coffee, milk) the bed, is again after reading previous reviews extremely comfortable. The place has also clearly undergone some great renovations, everything is fresh, and dusy free. I don't do reviews often, usually though I do when it's been a bad experience, yet I felt the need to for this place as I say I was worried before arriving. For the price, location, hospitality and ambiance..... It's hard to give it less than a 9.5/10. Pleasant surprises are always the best and assure you that I will be using this establishment again.
