This hotel is definitely a budget-friendly option compared to others in the area, so it's important to keep that in mind. While it does have a bit of a vintage vibe and can feel a little dim, I found it to be quite clean and very comfortable. Some guests have mentioned concerns about being locked out after midnight, but they do provide a mobile number to call for assistance, which I appreciated. I felt completely safe during my stay. The doors are secured at night, and there's a pin code system to access the reception area. The bars on the windows, which some have criticized, actually made me feel more secure. Our ground floor room did get a bit warm at night, but we were able to open the large window without worry, thanks to those bars. I understand why some travelers might feel a bit uneasy about the place due to its older style, but I really don’t think there’s any real reason to feel unsafe. The location is excellent! There’s plenty of unrestricted street parking nearby, and it’s just a quick bus ride into the city. We were in town for a concert at Manchester Academy, which was only a 10-minute bus trip away. I would definitely choose to stay here again.

The hotel is conveniently situated, just a short walk from the bus stop that connects to Stockport and Manchester, and it's also close to various restaurants for dinner and breakfast options. My room was quite spacious and fairly comfortable, complete with tea-making facilities and a nice shower. I picked this hotel mainly for its location and affordability, especially since the rates in Stockport and Macclesfield, where I typically stay, were quite high. The staff were exceptionally friendly. I didn't experience any noise from outside or within the hotel. Overall, it's a great place to stay for a few nights.
