Although the hotel was clearly in the midst of some renovations, the staff and the accommodations were outstanding, and any minor disruptions were easily overlooked. I enjoyed a meal there and was impressed by their expertise in various curry dishes—it truly lived up to the hype. The hosts were absolutely wonderful. I will definitely choose to stay at the Leven again whenever I'm in the area.
Fantastic location! While breakfast isn't included, there are plenty of great cafes in Stokesley to choose from. A real highlight was the Indian cuisine offered at the hotel; I had an amazing meal. The rooms were incredibly cozy, featuring a wonderful shower and huge fluffy towels, which is always a treat! Plus, having a kettle in the room was a nice touch.
