The Belmont Inn by OYO is a budget hotel with standardised amenities. Located in Abbeville, SC, this hotel is just 1 mile from Main Street Coffee Co and Village Grill.

This is the second time I stayed at the hotel. I stayed here because it is close to where I would be working. I am a choir director for two churches in that area, and when there are back to back services between the two churches, I stay in town since I travel a long distance from home. This hotel has always had great customer service and has been very clean each time I have been there. During my stay, I also ate at their restaurant. The food was delicious and the service was perfect. Also, my glass never got empty. I love the old charm that this hotel has. I even spent some time exploring. The room I rented was one of the premium King rooms. It had a lovely sitting area within the room and a lovely furnished balcony from which I could see part of the town. The bed was clean and comfortable. The air conditioner worked perfectly. There is a transom window above the entry door that allows some light from the hallway that I also liked. I was able to see to walk into the bathroom without having to find my glasses and turn on lights. The water was nice and hot for a shower and the bathroom had plenty of space for me. I loved all the windows and being able to allow natural light into the room. There was even a nice desk to use. All the staff were exceptional. Very friendly and welcoming. I also loved all the common areas throughout the hotel as well as the veranda. I also enjoyed reading up on the history of this old building. Had I not needed to return home and prepare for work for another job I have, I would've asked to stay another night. I plan to bring my wife this summer as we like to stay in unique places like this. If you like antique and vintage charm accompanied by warm hospitality, I am confident that you will love the Belmont Inn in the lovely town of Abbeville, SC.

As an individual who has travelled fairly extensively in numerous countries, I have stayed at hostels and facilities in Europe and Aisa that would make any traveler gasp, travelled to South America, and lodged in Soviet-era hotels in Moscow; yet I do not consider myself a world traveler. I'm someone who has had the privilege of seeing many different cultures through my middle-class eyes. I can't recall writing a review for any lodging facility before. The Belmont Inn is a facility that has captured the essence of an era when travel was not about waffle makers at breakfast and Michelin *starred* fine dining adjacent to the lodging facilities. Read all the reviews for The Belmont Inn and ask yourself what matters to you during an overnight stay at a facility in a small town in South Carolina. Yes, some reviewers found some details that caused them to complain, but the essence of the reviews were about a wonderfully preserved inn that has an incredible staff and an old facility that will transport you emotionally to a time when random homicides and intense political divisions were non-existent. That was my experience, and during my one night visit I slept until 0745 which is an unusual occurrence for me. Thank you staff and owners!!! Be sure to check-out small town Abbeville as well.
