I booked this hotel for my first trip to Oregon. I read the reviews on here before showing up and they got me scared, because so many people gave 1 stars and were expressing how terrible this motel was. People said they were bug infested, rude staff, that the walls were so thin you could hear every other person in each room and that this place was just terrible in general. But when I showed up, those reviews seemed far from what I experienced. Starting off, my husband and I actually showed up pretty early. Our check in was at 3pm but we were able to drive from Vegas to here and arrived at 6am. We were afraid they wouldn't allow us to check in early but they did and were extremely nice about it. They even let us check out early too, because we finished our vacation way earlier than we expected. When we saw the room, it was not as bad as everyone on here was saying. The bed was really comfy, especially after driving for over 16 hours. It was also really quiet compared to what everyone else on here said about it being loud. They had a nice tv and we were able to watch Netflix our whole stay! The room was clean and so was the bathroom. They had a mini fridge with a small freezer compartment so we could unpack our snacks we had in our cooler we brought. Their office had hot coffee for us to drink. I don't like coffee but it made me happy because my husband loves coffee. The AC unit was awesome because I love having the room cold when I sleep. The shower was good too because the hot water lasted for my whole shower! My only issues were the room did smell a little muggy when we first came in, but that doesn't really bother me. It could have been way more unbearable. And the bathroom did have some ants crawling around. I'll take ants over roaches any day lol. But other than that, this was a pretty solid hotel/motel. I don't know why people have such high expectations for a motel. It's not supposed to be some fancy place, just a place to lay your head and relax. There's a warm bed, a bathroom, a mini fridge and a tv for entertainment. That seems pretty great in my opinion. Way better than sleeping in the car. You guys definitely don't deserve all those bad reviews. We had an awesome stay and we'd like to thank you for having us!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I cannot say enough good things about Brian at the front desk of OYO Hotel St. Helens. We were dealing with a major family emergency around Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, and although we did everything we could to cancel our reservation two days in advance, the third-party booking company was an absolute nightmare to work with. (To be clear — this was not the hotel’s fault at all.) Brian took the time to truly listen and understand our situation. With professionalism, empathy, and incredible composure, he immediately worked with us and offered a same-day cancellation and refund by simply helping us move the reservation, even though it was the day of check-in and we still weren’t able to stay two days later. He was extremely well-spoken, respectful, and kind, and handled the entire situation with ease and confidence — removing all stress and concern from us during an already emotional time. What could have been a disaster turned into a moment of genuine relief and gratitude for our family. Brian didn’t just do his job — he went above and beyond and truly helped us when it mattered most. Because of him, we will absolutely consider staying here in the future and recommending this hotel to others. Thank you, Brian, for your compassion, professionalism, and for saving us during the holidays.
