Charming Georgian building perfectly located in the city, on a peaceful street yet just a short stroll across the bridge to shops, bars, and cafes. We were warmly greeted upon our arrival by the lovely lady at reception and handed the keys to our Bijoux loft room. While it was a bit snug (the name gives it away), it was just right for a couple's getaway. The room boasted a cozy Queen size bed, wardrobe, kettle, electric fan, and a modern en suite with a walk-in shower. The decor was tasteful, and everything was spotless, plus we appreciated the air conditioning on that warm summer evening! There were two sash windows (which couldn’t be opened, but we didn’t mind) offering lovely views of Durham Cathedral in the distance, overlooking the city. There’s a delightful little bar next to the reception where we enjoyed a drink in the afternoon, and at the back of the property, there’s a restaurant and a quaint beer garden, although we didn’t get a chance to use it during our stay.

Fabulous stay would 100% recommend. We stayed in le Jarden next to the cricket pitch Lovely location. We had a bottle of chilled prosecco on arrival ,we went in hot tub then had our meals then heading out in to Durham City centre only 10mins away went to a few pubs, got back went in hot tub. Next day have a great breakfast June cooked for us 😋 was delicious, her and Pauline were great they did cleaning as well they went above and beyond. Thus was a treat for our 29th wedding anniversary. We had our lunch at the library burger and chips then home. FANTASTIC STAY.
