I just got back from a trip to New Orleans and wanted to leave a review for The Louie Hotel (the Belvilla District 6 property, which used to be Sonder) over on South Rampart Street. We traveled with a group and stayed in one of their three-bedroom apartments, and it was honestly the perfect setup for us. First off, the apartment itself was excellent. It was super clean, modern, and had tons of space so we weren't constantly stepping on each other's toes like you would in a regular hotel room. Having a full kitchen and a real living area made a massive difference for winding down at night. Safety was a big priority for me when booking a place downtown, but I felt completely secure here. The building has a great security setup, and the neighborhood felt totally fine to walk around. Speaking of walking—the location is unbeatable. We were just a few minutes' walk from Canal Street and the French Quarter, so we didn't have to waste a ton of money on rideshares. Everything we wanted to see was right down the street, and catching the streetcar was incredibly easy. If you're looking for a safe, comfortable home base in NOLA that fits a group perfectly, I highly recommend booking one of the 3-bedroom setups here. We'd absolutely come back!
I was in New Orleans for a few days for work and was looking for a place where I could feel comfortable after a long day. I came across The Louie Hotel and decided to give it a try. From the moment I arrived, the stay felt easy and comfortable. I stayed in a King Bed room with access to a shared kitchen, which was actually very convenient during my work trip. I could come back in the evening, settle in, grab something to eat, and just unwind without having to go out again. The room was comfortable, and I really appreciated how relaxed the overall environment was. The people staying in the nearby rooms were also nice and respectful, which made the experience even better. After spending most of the day working, it was great to come back to a place that felt peaceful. By the end of my stay, I was genuinely happy with my choice. It felt like one of those places where everything was simple, comfortable, and just worked. If I’m back in New Orleans for work, I’d happily stay here again.
