Sunday Hotel, Liverpool

Sunday Hotel, Liverpool sits right by the River Mersey — in one of the city’s most exciting, energetic neighbourhoods. The kind of place where the skyline shines, the waterfront buzzes, and the city’s rhythm feels impossible to resist.

Whether you’re here for the culture, the football, the galleries, or the unmistakable Liverpool energy, this is where everything feels close, connected, and full of character. A stay rooted right in the city’s heartbeat.

A Sunday State of Mind — Liverpool Edition

Inside the hotel, the atmosphere reflects the city outside: warm, lively, modern, and full of personality. Big windows open to heritage views, natural light floods the spaces, and the design blends easy comfort with Liverpool’s unmistakable charm.

It’s a place that feels welcoming the moment you walk in — not quiet, but alive in a way that makes you feel part of the city instantly.

Rooms with a View of the City’s Pulse

Every room is designed for comfort after a day out in the city — plush beds, warm lighting, intuitive layouts, and big windows that frame Liverpool in motion.

Some rooms look out toward the river; others capture the city’s iconic rooftops and street scenes. Each one feels like your basecamp for exploring, unwinding, and gearing up for whatever the city has in store next.

Eat, Sip & Take In the City at the Vu Bar & Terrace

This is the spot everyone talks about — Vu Bar & Terrace, where locals and travellers gather for drinks, music, and skyline views that feel unmistakably Liverpool. Sit out on the terrace and watch the ferries move across the Mersey, feel the buzz of conversations, enjoy flavour-forward dishes, and let the atmosphere take over. It’s where quick drinks turn into long evenings. Where the city feels close, loud, and vibrant — exactly as it should.

Spaces Built for Gathering

From social celebrations to focused meetings, the hotel offers venues that match Liverpool’s energy — well-lit, flexible, and set against the backdrop of the city’s architecture. Nothing formal or stiff. Just dynamic spaces made for people coming together — to connect, celebrate, or get things done in a place that feels upbeat and inviting.

Step Out Into Liverpool Proper

Walk a few minutes and you''re at Albert Dock, the waterfront museums, The Beatles Story, Tate Liverpool, and the city’s bold cultural trail. Street performers, river views, football cheers, and endless stories — it’s all right there. Liverpool isn’t just a place to see — it’s a place to feel. And from this hotel, you feel it immediately.

Review: I had an absolutely wonderful experience at the Mercure Liverpool Atlantic Tower Hotel. From the moment I stepped in, the staff were exceptional — Kike at the front desk and Neil made me feel right at home and were incredibly accommodating throughout my stay. Jan at the breakfast area was just delightful — always so cheerful and friendly — and the bar staff consistently went the extra mile. The roof garden was definitely the highlight of my visit. The view of the Liver Buildings was simply breathtaking, especially in the evenings. I spent a lot of my time up there — it’s tranquil, beautifully kept, and such a unique aspect for a city hotel. I truly loved it and can’t wait to return. My room was a tad small, and the hallways could use a little updating, but honestly, it didn’t bother me — the air conditioning worked flawlessly during a heatwave, keeping my room wonderfully cool and comfortable the entire time. All in all, it’s the staff, the ambiance, and that stunning roof garden that truly made this stay memorable. I’d wholeheartedly recommend it and I’m already excited for my next visit.

We stayed in room 914, which was a fantastic size and offered a lovely view of the Liver Building and the Mersey. The reception team, bar staff, and all the restaurant personnel were outstanding, just like always. The hotel's location is perfect for visiting the Three Graces, the ferry terminal, museums, and making your way to the Albert Docks. If you exit the hotel and turn left, you'll find a charming courtyard that leads you right into the heart of the town. Everything worth seeing is just a short walk from the hotel. We opted for the bed and breakfast package, and the breakfast was superb, featuring a wide variety of both cold and hot dishes, along with juices, coffee, and tea.
