We had a pleasant 4-night stay at the Phoenix Hotel. The rooms featured high ceilings and a lovely balcony, which was a nice touch! There was also a spacious closet available. The complimentary breakfast was decent—nothing extraordinary, but it was sufficient. The hotel is conveniently located near the gold and spice souks, making it easy to stroll around and explore if you have the time. Additionally, the room service staff were friendly and attentive. I did have a couple of minor concerns, such as the slow Wi-Fi and the process of holding onto our passports for an hour during check-in. We were informed that we could retrieve our passports after an hour, which was a bit unsettling for me. It seemed to be a hotel policy, as I noticed passports in the front desk staff's drawer when she opened it. After an hour, I was told I could pick up our passports the following day, but I eventually got them back. This policy wasn't mentioned on the website. The Wi-Fi did have some intermittent issues, cutting off occasionally. After a day of sightseeing, it would be nice to connect with family and friends, but the internet speed and reliability at the hotel could use some improvement.

We came across some mixed reviews about this hotel, but our experience was fantastic! From the moment we checked in with my family, the manager and staff were incredibly friendly and eager to accommodate our needs. They were always ready to address our questions and fulfilled our requests with a smile! Located in Old Dubai, the hotel offers a wonderful glimpse into the local culture and authenticity of the area. There are plenty of shops, restaurants, and even the famous gold souk nearby, plus Al Ghurair Mall is just a short walk away! Our room was lovely, clean, and well-maintained, and the bathroom was great too! As tourists in Dubai, we truly enjoyed our 2-night, 3-day stay, especially for those wanting to soak in the charm of Old Dubai. I can't wait to return! Even with our luggage, I would highly recommend this Phoenix Hotel to backpackers as well! We absolutely loved it! The staff, security, and manager were all wonderful!
