I was hoping for a lively atmosphere, as I have fond memories of this place from years ago. The restaurant wasn't open, but they kindly offered us a meal, which was a nice touch. However, it felt a bit lacking in ambiance with just the two of us. The venue was set up for a wedding over the weekend, and it seemed a little worn compared to what I remembered. A fresh coat of paint could really brighten the space, and it would be great if the restaurant were open to both guests and outside visitors, especially since it boasts such a fantastic location with stunning views.

Despite all the negative feedback we had read, we were a bit nervous about staying at this hotel. However, our worries were unfounded. The staff were friendly, and the buffet offered great value with a nice variety of options. The bed was clean and very comfortable. The bathroom was functional, though it could use a bit of modernization. There were quite a few Romanians around, likely because the staff were as well, but that didn’t bother us at all. Plus, the milk in the room was fresh. There was ample parking, and it was perfect for our Gatwick trip.
