I met up with my son, who came from Manchester while I traveled from the South Coast with my 6-month-old puppy. We stayed for one night and opted for breakfast on Sunday morning. The twin room we were given was spacious enough for us and had everything we needed. It even had doors leading out to a patio area, which was perfect for our dog. We dined in the restaurant on Saturday evening, and the food was delightful. It was quite busy, and perhaps a couple more staff members would have been helpful, but the wait time was reasonable and didn’t bother us at all. Dogs are welcome in the bar area, and we initially tried to sit there with our pup, but he wasn’t settling down, so I took him back to the room and made him comfortable in his crate before heading back to the restaurant. We did the same for breakfast on Sunday morning, which was lovely and had everything we could want. The grounds are stunning and perfect for walks; I met several "locals" out and about with their dogs. We were fortunate to have sunny, albeit chilly, weather. We didn’t use the leisure facilities, but my son checked them out and was quite pleased with what he saw. All the staff we interacted with were friendly and accommodating.

The setting is stunning, an old country estate primarily used for weddings, nestled in beautiful grounds featuring lawns, woodlands, and a river. It's a wonderfully quiet and secluded spot, with the rooms located in and around a more contemporary building that includes a bar and restaurant, along with additional accommodation annexes. We opted for one of the annex rooms since we brought our dogs along. We enjoyed drinks in the charming courtyard, which was delightful, and had a lovely meal in the appealing restaurant. The staff were all very helpful and courteous, even with a full house that weekend. Parking was easily accessible, and dogs are welcome in the grounds and some indoor areas. Our room was quite satisfactory, though it showed a bit of wear; the wooden windows are starting to age! The food was delicious, well-prepared, and beautifully presented, though the menu was somewhat limited. Breakfast was understandably busy, but there was an abundance of food with plenty of options. Overall, we had a very enjoyable stay.
