A popular budget hotel in Hanoi Chikoo Homestay (spot-on) remains in limelight for multiple reasons. This budget hotel in Hanoi, Red river delta is located at a distance of about 0.
I am currently on my 7th month of a year trip and I have spent the majority of the time here. I have not had any trouble accommodating into the homestay. I want to make it very clear that this is a home and not a hotel. Many foreign guests, during the course of my stay, have confused it as such. The owner is a very good person and has been since the first day I have arrived. He is very understanding and hardworking in maintaining his home. The feeling of a home is truly present here and I wouldn't trade my stay here for a hotel. The price for this location, for the surrounding area and for the accomodations is more than reasonable. Privacy is given and one can rest assured that it is respected. My stay here has given me the purest understanding of the "daily life" in Vietnam. I am saddened to witness at times the trouble caused by some guests when they believe it is okay to behave in a rude and disturbing manner with the lack of respect for the owner and his home. I don't see myself wanting to move elsewhere for the reason of comfort. I do suggest for those who are passerbys, to give it a try. Stay a night or two and do your best to be patient in communication. Don't be quick to argue when it is senseless, nothing will be resolved. Remember, this is a homestay, not a hotel. If you are looking for a hotel, then go look elsewhere. The owner does more than his best to maintain his home. He has a beautiful home that he has continuously developed over the years with the most fascinating stairwell that I have had and continue to have the pleasure of using. This should have been my second review but as time went on I was unable to do so. I will have follow up reviews as time gets closer to my departure but I feel it is unnecessary for me. I may leave a final review upon my leave. Don't believe me? Stay a night and check it out. If it's not what you are looking for, there are hotels nearby by too.
Rooms are pretty basic, however, very comfortable bedding and AC. The place was as expected of a homestay and the owner seemed very kind and easy going.
