Package Description

Leh, the largest town in Ladakh, is located towards the eastern side of Jammu and Kashmir. Featuring the Great Himalayas, this cold desert is famous for old monasteries, high passes, picturesque valleys and crystal-clear lakes. Nubra Valley and Pangong Lake add on to the beauty of this region. Nubra is a picturesque valley surrounded by stark slopes and green villages, also known as the ‘valley of flowers’. The world’s highest saltwater lake, Pangong is situated at a height of 4350m, extending from India to China. Arrive in Leh

Upon arrival at the Leh Kushok Bakula Airport, meet our representative and get transferred to your OYO hotel for check-in. Have welcome tea or coffee and spend the day resting and getting acclimatized to Leh’s climate. In the evening, visit Shanti Stupa on a hilltop in Chanspa. Enjoy a comforting night stay at the hotel.

DAY

Explore Indus valley with Excursion to Monasteries

Post Breakfast, proceed for a day tour to monasteries situated in the Indus valley. Start with Hemis Gompa, the largest monastic foundation of Drukpa Kagyu Order of Tibetan Buddhism and Thiksey Monastery an impressive complex rising tier upon tier on a hill above the village. Then visit the Shey Palace, the former summer capital of Ladakh, Rancho’s School in the movie 3 idiots and Sindhu Ghat. After completing the tour, drive back to Leh. The evening will be free for leisure and exploring the city on your own. Take dinner & stay overnight at the hotel.

Leh to Nubra valley

After breakfast, begin the drive towards Nubra Valley and enroute traverse the highest motorable road on earth - Khardung La Pass (18384 feet). From the pass, one can see all the way south over the Indus valley and seemingly endless peaks and ridges of the Zanskar range, to the very north spotting the lofty mountain Saser Massif. Enjoy the sight of the beautiful Nubra Valley, popularly known as Ldumra or the ‘valley of flowers’. Stay the night at the camp.

Transfer to Pangong

After an early breakfast, head to Pangong Tso via Shyok. Travel time is approximately 5-6 hrs. On arrival at Pangong , check into the camp for an overnight stay.

Pangong to Leh

Wake up to the call of migratory birds this morning and indulge in a peaceful walk beside the lake or capture the amazing views in your camera. Later, depart for Leh. On arrival, check-in to your hotel and spend rest of the day at leisure followed by an overnight stay.

Excursion to Alchi

After breakfast, set out for an excursion to Alchi Monastery, 68 kms from Leh. Here, you will see centuries-old wall paintings wall paintings, huge statues of the Buddha and elaborate wood carvings and art-work. Enroute, visit the great statue of Maitreya Buddha at Likir monastery, the Sangam of Indus & Zanskar rivers that are the two major rivers in Ladakh, Magnetic Hill and Military Hall of Fame.

Departure from Leh

After breakfast, check-out from the hotel. You will be transferred to the airport for your journey onwards.

  • Per person prices are quoted on twin-share basis (2 persons sharing a room)
  • A maximum of 3 adults are allowed in one room
  • The third occupant of the room shall be provided a mattress/rollaway bed
  • The package price does not include –Expenses of personal nature, such as laundry, telephone calls, room service, alcoholic beverages, mini bar charges, tips, portage, camera fees etc. Any meals and services not specifically mentioned in the inclusions
  • Airline seats and hotel rooms are subject to availability at the time of booking.
  • In case of unavailability in the listed hotels, arrangement for an alternate accommodation will be made in a hotel of similar standard.
  • Room heaters if required can be provided on chargeable basis, subject to availability.
  • Hot water is only provided for 2 hours during the morning and evening in Leh. In camps, hot water is only available for a limited time in the morning.
  • Only vegetarian meals are served at Nubra and Pangong.
  • Connectivity (phone as well as internet) is poor and unreliable in Ladakh. Most hotels will not have a Wi-Fi connection.
  • Transportation shall be provided as per the itinerary and will not be at disposal.
  • OYO reserves the right to modify the itinerary at any point, due to reasons including but not limited to: Force Majeure events, strikes, fairs, festivals, weather conditions, traffic problems, overbooking of hotels / flights, cancellation / re-routing of flights, closure of / entry restrictions at a place of visit, etc. While we will do our best to make suitable alternate arrangements, we would not be held liable for any refunds/compensation claims arising out of this.
  • It is mandatory for all guests to carry valid photo IDs (Passport/Driving License/Voter ID Card). PAN Card is not accepted at many places as a valid photo ID.
  • People from Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, China, Myanmar and Bhutan cannot travel to restricted areas outside Leh such as Nubra Valley, Pangong, and Tsomoriri etc. Nationals of countries other than these can travel to Ladakh provided they don’t have a Diplomatic passport.

  • Disputes, if any, shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in New Delhi.
