DAY

Arrival at Leh

On arrival at Leh, you will be welcomed by our local representative. Check-in to a Ladakhi style hotel and take rest to get acclimatized to the arid high altitude of Leh (3505m). In the evening, enjoy the sunset point (Shanti stupa & Leh market), followed by dinner and overnight stay at your OYO hotel.

DAY

Explore Indus Valley and Visit to Monasteries

On this day, you will go for a sightseeing tour to some of the ancient monasteries around the Indus Valley. Shey Gompa is about 15 kms from Leh. It used to be the summer palace of the Kings of Ladakh. There are lots of Stupas and Gompas built around the palace. Shey palace was built by Deldan Namgyal in the beginning of 17th century AD. The main attraction here is the 12m Shakyamuni Buddha statue inside the Dresthang Gompa. Then, visit the 500-year old Thiksey Gompa, belonging to the Gelukpa order and the Hemis Monastery, located about 45 kms south of Leh. This monastery is cradled in a lovely valley, surrounded by the mountains and fronted by long Mani walls. Lastly, go to the Sindhu Ghat, bank of the Holy Indus river, Rancho’s School that featured in the movie 3 Idiots and the nine-storied Leh Palace built by King Sengge Namgyal of the Namgail Dynasty. Return to the hotel and stay overnight.

Transfer to Nubra valley

After breakfast, drive for about 04-05 hrs towards Nubra, also known as ‘the valley of flowers’ and reach the world's highest motorable road called Khardung La, about 18,380 feet above sea level. From the top, enjoy views of the beautiful Indus valley and its snow-covered peaks. If the weather is clear, it is also possible to see the Karakoram mountain range from here. Drive further to the Nubra Valley and check-in to your OYO hotel. Take rest till evening and go for an excursion to the Hunder sand dunes before sunset and ride the double-humped Bactrian camel. You can also take a walk around the village to observe the local people and their culture. Stay overnight at the hotel.

Nubra to Leh

Have breakfast and visit the Diskit monastery situated on a hilltop, famous for a 100 foot Maitra Buddha statue. Move towards the other side of Nubra valley, that forms the main part of silk route, after which you will be driven back to Leh via Khardung La. Reach Leh & check-in to your OYO hotel for an overnight stay.

Leh to Pangong, via Changla pass

After breakfast, begin a 6-hour drive towards the spectacular Changthang Valley, winding your way over the exhilarating Chang la (5320 mts.), the second highest point of the journey. Enjoy the spectacular landscape on your way to Pangong. Reach and stay overnight.

Explore Pangong and drive back to Leh

Enjoy a sumptuous breakfast at the hotel and move to explore the Pangong Lake, situated at 13,930 ft. above sea level. It is 125 kms long and 4 kms wide, extending almost in a straight line, towards Tibet. In fact, only a quarter of the lake is in India. Enroute, you will see some Himalayan marmots and migratory birds. Drive back to Leh for an overnight stay in the hotel.

Leh Local Sightseeing

Have breakfast and move for the local sightseeing of Leh, exploring places such as the Magnetic Hill - an interesting place which defies the law of gravity, Sangam - the Confluence of Zanskar river and Indus river, Gurdwara Pathar Sahib - situated 25 miles from Leh, Spituk Gompa - a 15th century old Gompa housing a collection of ancient masks, antique arms, and an awe-inspiring image of Mahakaal, Ladakh Hall of Fame - a war cum historic museum built by the Indian Army. At the end of the tour, return to your OYO hotel in Leh and stay overnight.

Departure from Leh

After breakfast, check-out from the hotel. You will be transferred to the airport for your journey onwards.

  • Per person prices are quoted on twin-share basis (2 persons sharing a room)
  • A maximum of 3 adults are allowed in one room
  • The third occupant of the room shall be provided a mattress/rollaway bed
  • The package price does not include –Expenses of personal nature, such as laundry, telephone calls, room service, alcoholic beverages, mini bar charges, tips, portage, camera fees etc. Any meals and services not specifically mentioned in the inclusions
  • Airline seats and hotel rooms are subject to availability at the time of booking.
  • In case of unavailability in the listed hotels, arrangement for an alternate accommodation will be made in a hotel of similar standard.
  • Room heaters if required can be provided on chargeable basis, subject to availability.
  • Hot water is only provided for 2 hours during the morning and evening in Leh. In camps, hot water is only available for a limited time in the morning.
  • Only vegetarian meals are served at Nubra and Pangong.
  • Connectivity (phone as well as internet) is poor and unreliable in Ladakh. Most hotels will not have a Wi-Fi connection.
  • Transportation shall be provided as per the itinerary and will not be at disposal.
  • OYO reserves the right to modify the itinerary at any point, due to reasons including but not limited to: Force Majeure events, strikes, fairs, festivals, weather conditions, traffic problems, overbooking of hotels / flights, cancellation / re-routing of flights, closure of / entry restrictions at a place of visit, etc. While we will do our best to make suitable alternate arrangements, we would not be held liable for any refunds/compensation claims arising out of this.
  • It is mandatory for all guests to carry valid photo IDs (Passport/Driving License/Voter ID Card). PAN Card is not accepted at many places as a valid photo ID.
  • People from Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, China, Myanmar and Bhutan cannot travel to restricted areas outside Leh such as Nubra Valley, Pangong, and Tsomoriri etc. Nationals of countries other than these can travel to Ladakh provided they don’t have a Diplomatic passport.

  • Disputes, if any, shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in New Delhi.
