I initially encountered bedbugs in my first room, but when I informed the staff, they promptly moved me to a clean room and were very accommodating. It's clear that no hotel wants to deal with bedbugs, so they even checked my previous room afterward. The new room had a functioning shower and a private balcony, which made for a pleasant stay overall! The laundry service was straightforward and affordable. Being right on Khaosan Road made it super easy to enjoy the nightlife. I didn’t meet many other solo travelers at the hotel since there wasn’t a common area or bar, but with so many friendly backpackers around Khaosan, it wasn’t an issue. I attempted to book a bus ticket to Siem Reap (Cambodia) from the RIS tourist agency right outside the hotel. I would recommend looking elsewhere for that. They charged way too much and messed up my original ticket, leaving me waiting in the hotel lobby for three hours for a bus that never showed up. However, the hotel staff were fantastic—they brought me breakfast while I waited and allowed me to stay in my room after checkout while they arranged another bus to get me to Cambodia. The staff truly made my experience amazing!

if you're looking to stay in the kao san area, this is definitely one of the top picks. it offers a clean environment with some essential comforts, all without breaking the bank. sure, you might find cheaper options, but they often come with the downside of being old, dirty, or a bit sketchy. I tried out two different rooms during my stay. the one on the second floor had a larger bathroom but lacked windows and a balcony, making it feel a bit claustrophobic. on the other hand, the room on the fourth floor had a small balcony, which was created by splitting the bathroom, making it a bit tricky to shower due to the limited space. however, I preferred that room for the extra light, fresh air, and the chance to enjoy a smoke on the balcony. as for noise, it can get lively at night since you're on a 'party' street, but if you keep the balcony doors and windows closed, it’s manageable, and you can still get a good night's sleep. I would recommend this hotel for a short stay if you want to be right on kao san road. it’s a great value for your money!
