On the occasion of National Unity Day, we at OYO Hotels & Homes announced the opening of our boutique home-stays under its brand OYO Home in the Kevadia district. Reiterating our commitment to the Gujarat Government’s vision to promote tourism and creating micro-entrepreneurship opportunities in the region, we announced the opening up of unique, boutique home-stays under the brand, OYO Home. The announcement is in line with our commitment to explore the immense opportunity in the tourism sector in Gujarat that remains largely untapped. To begin with, we have opened four home-stays in the district and aim to open 20+ by the end of this year.
The recent inauguration of jetty and seaplane service connecting Sabarmati riverfront and Narmada river in the district will also contribute and boost tourism in the region. We are humbled and honoured to be part of Honourable Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Government of Gujarat’s vision to bring Kevadia on top of the world’s tourism map and support livelihood of the locals. As the Statue of Unity has opened up for tourists starting October 17 following all the necessary guidelines, we aim to bring the art and culture of Gujarat’s heritage to the travellers in Kevadia providing them a flavour of the staying like a local. Travellers can experience the local cuisine, culture, rustic outdoors in the most authentic way.
As we witness a surge in demand for leisure travel across the country with states slowly unlocking, the hotel chain is expecting tourists based in neighbouring cities including Ahmedabad, Surat, Vadodara to visit Kevadia district to experience the hidden gems and local tourist attractions such as Butterfly garden, valley of flowers, Cactus Garden, Khalvani Eco-tourism site among others.
Commenting on the development, Ritesh Agarwal, Founder & Group CEO, OYO Hotels & Homes said, “We, at OYO, are thrilled to be a part of the unique tourism opportunities in Gujarat and are excited to welcome travellers visiting Kevadia for a comfortable stay at our boutique home-stays which are part of our OYO Home offering in the district. We are committed to Honourable Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Gujarat Government’s vision to promote tourism in Kevadia to generate economic and employment opportunities in the district. As we open our doors to welcome tourists and experience the art, culture & heritage of the state of Gujarat, we are hopeful of driving domestic tourism demand to the state. We, at OYO, will continue to empower multiple ancillary industries in the hospitality ecosystem, promote micro-entrepreneurship opportunities and support local businesses in the region. We further plan to onboard 20+ home-stays by the end of this year.”

Offering a perfect amalgamation of boutique-stays & leisure, OYO’s home-stays are designed to offer a rich, culturally diverse and delightful experience to travellers. These will be situated in the vicinity of the Statue of Unity and are beautifully designed, imbibing the local art and heritage. These stays will include amenities such as – comfortable furniture, air conditioning, heated water, comfortable lined and free Wi-Fi access. While staying, guests can explore the famous Statue of Unity, experience adventure activities such hiking, zip-lining, river rafting at rapids and visit Valley of Flowers, Butterfly Garden, Cactus Garden and Arogya Van to feel closer to nature.
As higher hygiene standards, minimal-touch services, and enhanced credibility top the list of consumer requirements while planning travel, these home-stays will be part of our latest initiative of ‘Sanitised Stays’. To ensure the safety of our customers and employees, we have worked out minimal touch SOPs for check-in, check-out. We will be conducting extensive training of on-ground teams, staff and asset owners on the revised ways of working (health-screening, following social distancing norms, disinfecting the property, distance markers, etc.).
Here’s wishing everyone a safe and happy travels
