OYO etches significant milestone in the Philippines, adds 100+ hotels to its chain in six months

Magandang Araw, Philippines!

As part of our successful foray into Southeast Asia, we at OYO Hotels and Homes are happy to announce that we have reached a milestone of 100+ hotels in the Philippines in a matter of just 6 months. We have already expanded our footprint to 15 cities across the country while adding 3,000 exclusive keys to our chain of hotels. Owing to the strong local talent, technology and execution, we have been consistently growing our footprint in the country and adding value to the hospitality industry of the Philippines.

Today, we are present in Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao, specifically in the cities of Manila, Makati, Mandaluyong, Muntinlupa, Quezon  Taguig, Cebu and Davao. Since opening our doors in the Philippines, we have seen steady growth with a tremendous increase in the number of guests.  This is a testament to the quality accommodation that we bring to the country with our chic hospitality experiences. The Philippines is a popular travel destination among international and domestic travellers – including business travellers and young families and couples on leisure trips, hence our hotels are highly sought in the metro cities, and townships and smaller towns across the nation. Till date,  we have recorded the highest number of bookings from Manila, Cebu and Davao.

Commenting on this milestone, Ankit, Country Head, OYO Hotels & Homes said, “The 100th hotel in the Philippines is a big moment for us. Within six months since our launch in the country, OYO has captured the imagination of millions of value-conscious and globetrotting travellers in the country. With expanding to 15+ cities, we are reinforcing our mission of creating quality living spaces for everyone and are geared towards expanding operations to many more cities across by 2019-end. The Philippines is a very important market for us and we have already committed over $50 million investment. This pace of growth has been possible thanks to the active participation of hundreds of asset owners, OYO’s loyal customers, and over 200 OYOpreneurs (employees) across the Philippines.”

Ricardo Gumanit, the owner of OYO 165 Circle B Apartelle & Suites, said: “For small hotels like ours, running the business proved to be a challenge due to the lack of experience and proper resources. That is until OYO came in. OYO helps us manage and control our system. They also helped us establish an entire system for bookings, reservations and guest management. The compelling marketing strategy of OYO drives more customers through online channels and the stringent training they offer to our staff makes it easier to resolve guest escalations. I strongly recommend OYO to small hotels like ours.”

The Philippines’ rich biodiversity coupled with mesmerising beaches and booming commercial centres makes it a veritable delight for leisure and business travellers alike. Known worldwide for our innovative chic offerings, we believe that we have impacted hospitality experiences positively.
