We really enjoyed our stay at Mimi Del Mar. The beach club and the guys that work it are the best part. Even if you don’t stay there, go to the beach club! Eat the food, drink the drinks, and relax on the beach. They have loungers, umbrellas, etc. Luciano, Carlos, and Paco took amazing care of us. When it came to an umbrella, some food, a drink, or asking where to get certain things, they did it all. The hotel is small and quaint and has a real authentic charm. We got a standard room so it was very basic, but it had all we needed. Cold AC and comfy bed. It was also quiet in our room. We met the manager Galia and she was very sweet and let us know all the ways they have been working to update and improve the hotel. If you’re looking for a hotel on the beach that doesn’t cost too much, this is it. We would definitely stay here again. So many shops and restaurants around to walk to. A 5 minute walk to the ferry pier. We did a day trip to Cozumel. And they have massage tables right out front. We got great massages our first day when it was raining and it was so relaxing!
I had a great time at Mimì del Mar! I chose this hotel because it was right on the beach and I mean ON THE BEACH. Also its Mexican style was convincing me more than all the other new hotels. It's a cozy and cute hotel in the heart of Playa del Carmen. You can reach any place on foot. People who complain don't know how much effort and money the new management is putting on it to renovate it and fixing things. Btw I had a little problem with my sink and beautiful Teresa (the secretary) came to my help right away. And you can have your delicious breakfast or meal with the fantastic view of the caribbean sea and your feet on the sand. And the staff is amazing: working working and working with a BIG smile on their faces. There is also a nice corner with massage..serious massage. Of course if you are picky and don't want to carry your luggage for a meter on the sand choose some place else but you will miss a good chance to enjoy a happy vacation. PS don't forget the propina: serious tradition in Mexico and you'll have amigos for life
