Day 1: Reach Srinagar

On arrival at Srinagar Airport you will be met by our representative & transferred to the Houseboat. Rest of the at leisure on own. Evening leave for Shikara ride for visit to Dal lake. Back to Houseboat. Overnight at Houseboat

Day 2: Kargil (204kms/6-7hrs)

This morning after an early breakfast we will drive to Kargil which bears resemblance to a typical Central Asian town, passing Sonmarg & Zoji La and Drass – the second coldest inhabited place on earth after Siberia. Arrive at Kargil, check into hotel

Day 3: Leh

After an early breakfast , we will start our drive to Leh seeing the transformation as we traverse from one world to another, regionally as well as “religionally”, from primarily Muslim Kargil district to Buddhist Leh district . Drive to the 11th Century Lamayuru Monastery enroute visiting the mesmerizing Moon Landscapes (you will understand now the reason behind this region being referred to as “Moonland” – exactly similar formations of land are visible as on the moon), Lamayuru is spectacularly located along the valley plain and surrounded by mountains on all sides. Later drive to Leh for an overnight stay at your Hotel.

Journey towards the ancient Silk Route via the highest motorable road on earth (Khardungla 18384 feet). Visit the famous Deskit Gompa of Nubra Valley. Walk on the sand dunes and ride the double humped camel (Bactrian camels brought to Ladakh by ancient Silk Route traders). Night Stay in Nubra.

Day 5: Leh

By late afternoon we come back to Leh and chill or roam around Shanti Stupa, Leh Palace & Leh Monastery.

Day 6: Pangong Tso(140 kms)

Discover the myriad colours and shades of Pangong lake. Leave Leh in the morning, en route visiting Shey Palace, the ancient capital of Ladakh & 3idiots Rancho School and also visit Thiksey , an impressive complex rising tier upon tier on a hill above the village. Reach Pangong by crossing the third highest motor able pass (Changla at 5486 mtrs) on earth. Spend good 3-4 hours by the great Pangong Tso(5-6kms wide & 134 km in length) , 2/3rd of which lies inside the China border. Admire the quietude around the lake as we share memories of the past week. Overnight at Camps by the Pangong Lake.

Day 7: Pangong – Leh

Wake up calls by the migratory birds this morning. Indulge in the walk beside the lake or go for a photography splurge. Later depart for Leh en route visit Hemis Gompa. Further en-route to Leh, we have an RLT Special experience of tea at the house of a local Ladakhi at Stok village & admire the local architecture. Arrive at Leh in second half. Evening free. Overnight in Leh.

Day 8: Leh Tsomoriri(240km/7hrs)

Post Breakfast leave for Tsomoriri Lake . We stop over at Chumathang on the way which is famous for its Sulphur springs . From here a short drive will take you to Mahey bridge, the main checking point to enter to this new area. On the way visit Sumdah village and another 55 kms drive will take you to Tsomoriri. The Tsomoriri Lake is located at 14,000 ft. near a small village of Korzok. Recently opened to foreigners due to the proximity of the Chinese boarder, the Changthang is a land of wilderness and magnificent landscapes, Tsomoriri Lake is also the breeding ground for numerous species of birds, like the bar headed goose, crested grebe, the Brahmini duck (ruddy sheldrake) and the brown-headed gull. The Tsomorir Lake is 8 kms wide and 28 kms long. Upon arrival we check in at our camp for overnight.

Day 9: Via Tsokar Jispa

Today after an early breakfast start our journey back. After breakfast check out and proceed towards Korzok village with its houses and its Gompa appearing like a mirage. The few barley fields at Korzok must be among the highest cultivation in the world. Proceed to Tsokar Lake. The nomadic people Changpas are most outstanding feature of this area. They can be seen moving from one place to other grazing herds of goats, sheep and yaks. Changpas pass their days with their animals and move with their flocks, their only wealth from pasture to pasture according to changing season. Their flocks, their yaks, and goat’s hair furnish the raw material of which they make their ropes, their clothes and shoes. Even towards the fag end of the twenty first century, they belong to a primitive pre-historic age, Proceed towards Jispa, crossing the high altitude passes of Tanglalang La , Lachangla & Baralachala. On arrival at Jispa check into camp at Jispa/ Keylong

Day 10: Manali

After breakfast leave for Manali (5-6 hours drive via Rohtang Pass), where landscape changes from arid & rugged to lush green Manali side . On arrival at Manali proced to hotel. The rest of the day is free at leisure ( on own). Overnight at Manali

Day 11: Departure

Transfer to the bus stop to board your Volvo bus back to Delhi with fond memories of your great holiday
