Day 4: Leh– Nubra Valley Via Khardung La (120 Kms /4–5 Hrs)

After breakfast, we drive towards Nubra Valley and enroute we traverse the highest motorable road on earth (Khardungla Pass, 18384 feet). From the pass, one can see all the way south over the Indus valley to seemingly endless peaks and ridges of the Zanskar range, and north to the giants of the Saser massif. Nubra Valley is popularly known as Ldumra or the valley of flowers. Night Stay in Nubra at Camp.

Day 5: Nubra Valley – Leh (120 Kms / 4 – 5 Hrs)

After an early breakfast we check out from the Camp and drive to Hunder, where you come across sand dunes besides the road and have an opportunity to ride the double humped Bactrian camels on this high altitude desert. Seen in isolation, you could well be amongst the sand dunes of the Thar Desert. It is indeed a strange sight since in the same visual you get to see the desert, Snow-capped mountains, a river and camels, all thriving together. On the return, stop at Diskit, famous for 515 years-old Buddhist Monastery, magnificently situated on a hilltop, facing the entire Valley. Later we drive back to Leh in the late afternoon. On arrival at Leh you will check in to your Hotel.

Day 7: Pangong to Leh

Wake up calls by the migratory birds this morning. Indulge in the walk beside the lake or go for a photography splurge. Later depart for Leh en route visit Hemis Gompa, the largest monastery in Leh. Arrive at Leh in second half. Evening free. Overnight in Leh.

Day 8: ) Leh- Kargil

Exactly the same formations of Land are visible as on the moon), Lamayuru is spectacularly located along the valley plain and surrounded by mountains on all sides. The monastery has gradually expanded over the years and newer structures have been built around a large courtyard. The antiquity of this site is evident from the large number of chortens, similar to those at Alchi. Further to Kargil over Fatu-la [13,489 ft] which is the highest pass on Srinagar – Leh road. Upon arrival in Kargil we check in at our Hotel for an overnight stay. Ladakh-Tour-nubra valley camel ride
