We had a really pleasant stay here, and overall I think the hotel offers good value for the price. I especially want to mention the Himalayan guy at the reception. We had some nice conversations about trips and travel, and he was extremely helpful, friendly, and really an all-rounder. During our stay, there was even a situation where a group entered the staff area, and he handled it calmly and professionally. He also came to our rescue around midnight when we needed some toilet paper, which was really appreciated! I understand that working in a hotel can be challenging, especially with staff shortages and a lot of pressure. Sometimes things may take a little longer or may not go perfectly, but I think a little patience, respect, and understanding from guests goes a long way. I also understand that the hotel is now under new Indian ownership. I would like to wish the new owner and the entire team the very best for their new endeavour. Hopefully, with some improvements and fresh ideas, the hotel can become even better in the future. The breakfast is simple, but for the price of the hotel, I personally think it is reasonable and offers good value. There is also a vending machine where you can get drinks and snacks like chips. There is no dinner option at the hotel, but you can order food from the takeaway and restaurant leaflets available at reception. The location is peaceful, which we really liked. However, it is quite far from supermarkets such as REWE and Kaufland, which are down in the city area. If you're planning to stay here, I would recommend bringing some food or snacks with you in advance. The mobile network can also be quite weak in the area. One thing that definitely needs improvement is the Wi Fi in the green building. During our stay, there was basically no Wi Fi there, and combined with the weak mobile network, it can be inconvenient. It would also be much more convenient if reception was available in the green building as well, because guests sometimes have to go back and forth between the blue and green buildings for breakfast or reception. The building itself is old, which gives it a certain character, but some things could definitely use an update. The curtains and carpets, in particular, could be replaced. I hope the management takes these points into consideration because a few improvements could make the stay even better. The area was generally peaceful, although occasionally some guests were quite noisy, which of course isn't really something the hotel can completely control. We also celebrated a birthday here during our stay, which made the experience even more special. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would definitely consider coming back for another holiday. I wish the new owners and the whole team all the best for the future and hope they continue improving the hotel while keeping the friendly service. One final note: I was told that the €5 charge was from Booking.com, rather than directly from the hotel.
