Summers have swept the county in full sweep. From heat waves to the rising demand for ACs and ice creams, the indications are right there for everyone to see. North India, in particular, faces the brunt of the season, which is in complete contradiction to the biting cold of the winter season. The advent of summer vacations is another reason why North Indians rush to the hills for some respite from the sweltering heat and high temperatures. The cool breeze and the sight of lush green hills is just the kind of experience to re-energise your mind and body.
Did you know Mussoorie is also alternatively known as Mansoori? The locals took to this name based on ‘Mansoor’, a local shrub found commonly in the region. Nestled in the foothills of the Garhwal Himalayan Region, Mussoorie is one of the top tourist destinations when it comes to the top spots prefered by North Indians. Situated at an altitude of 7000 feet above sea level, this pristine hill-station is one of the favoured destinations among not just North Indians but tourists from across the globe.
If you were also under the impression that Himachal Pradesh is the only place that wins at offering mesmerising views and snow-capped peaks with comfortable accommodations, you’ve been clearly mistaken. Uttarakhand provides stiff competition when it comes to taking your breath away with unmatched locations and nature at its finest. If you haven’t witnessed it yet, we suggest that this summer, you chill in the Queen of the hills, Mussoorie.
